A transit is where a planet is in the sky now, compared with your birth chart. Here, today's Mercury makes a conjunction (0°) to the spot where your Sun was when you were born.
It is a blend that can go either way, and it lasts a day or two (longer when it is retrograde). Your Today page tells you when it is happening for you.

About the conjunction
A conjunction joins two planets in the same part of the sky. Their energies blend so closely that they act as a single voice. The planets involved strengthen and colour each other; the result depends on their natures. A conjunction is a focus point in a chart, often a talent or a theme that keeps returning.
