In simple words
Your life path number comes from your full birth date: add up the digits and reduce them to one number (11, 22 and 33 stay as they are). It describes the road you walk in life.
Life path 6 is called "The Nurturer". Read Gifts for your strengths and Challenges for what to work on. The worked example at the bottom shows exactly how it is calculated.
Gifts
Compassion, loyalty and a deep sense of responsibility. You create harmony and beauty at home and in your community, and people feel safe with you. You are a natural carer and protector.
Challenges
You may become over-responsible, controlling or self-sacrificing. High ideals can lead to disappointment in yourself or others, and you may find it hard to receive care. You may find it hard to rest while anyone around you is unhappy. Saying no can feel unkind, though it often protects the care you most want to give.
Life path 6 in love
Love is your great theme. You are devoted, romantic and family-oriented, and you give generously. A partner who appreciates you and cares for you in return helps you feel truly loved.
Life path 6 at work
Teaching, healing, counselling, design, hospitality and community work suit you. You do best where you can help others and create beauty or comfort. Your sense of beauty and fairness also shapes the places where you work. People often trust you with responsibility for others, and you take it seriously.
Growing as a 6
Accept yourself and others as they are, not as they should be. Love that includes acceptance is the most healing kind. Let your care include you. Schedule time to be looked after, and notice how much more you have to give when your own cup is full.
How to calculate it
Reduce the month, the day and the year of birth to single digits (keeping 11, 22 and 33), then add them and reduce again. For example, 4 January 1990:
- Month 1
- Day 4
- Year 1990 → 19 → 10 → 1
- 1 + 4 + 1 = 6
